Freshly Baked Japanese Bread!

Yakitate Japan! Haha, don't mind me. I'm just bored, and my net won't permit me to do much, well so I decided to blog. Haha, anyways, Yakitate Japan directly translates to Freshly Baked Japanese Bread, and its an anime show, also a manga. I started watching/reading this like, last year? Or somewhere around that time.

Well, anyways, you might be wondering, where does the word Japanese Bread come in from that translation? Lol, what most of us don't know is, the Japanese are very good in word play, its quite unexpected. Even with words from foreign languages, they can play around and form something quite unusual, and sometimes, funny. So here, Pan means bread, at least in Japanese. Furaans Pan would mean France Bread, Inguurisu Pan would be English Bread, and Ja-Pan, would mean Japanese Bread, a pun. Haha.

The story is about a very dense but energetic young man, who hates bread a lot, and only likes rice, the staple food of Japan. But one day, that all changed, after meeting a nice baker who taught him a few things about bread, he started to love bread, also he realized that he has Solar Hands, hands which are warmer than normal human temperature, which allow in better fermentation of bread. Lol, funny, but true. He vowed to create Japanese bread for Japanese people, and by the Japanese people. Which in turn led to very interesting turn of events.

The story itself revolves around bread, and a lot of general knowledge about food. It may seem impossible, stupid, and ridiculous, but all the bread that are baked in the show/book are real, and its possible to bake them that way. The manga-ka (manga artist) got a baker to assist him in the making of the story, and the explanation of the bread world. (All the bread in the show are actually this baker's creation) Of course, not only the bread makes this show interesting, but the character development is rather good, you see them change their personality, the way they see things, the way they do things, and also....their hairstyle. Lol. The anime show itself has good Opening and Ending songs which anyone could enjoy. The anime/manga adapted a lot of ideas from other Animes, making them seem funny in the bread world. Some animes that were 'made fun of' include Gundam, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball, even Naruto! The latest episodes made fun of Lord of the Rings, well not really, but maybe if you watched it for yourself, it'll be funnier.

Well, characters include Azuma Kazuma, the protagonist of the story, the man who posseses the Solar Hands, Kawachi, someone who was ahead of Azuma in the beginning of the story, but becomes the comic relief near the end, also changes his hairstyle 4 times throughout the whole plot, Suwabara Kai, a samurai who gave up his 'way of the dead' to take up the 'way of the bread/life' and so many other more characters you'd love to see develop!

That is why, to all anime lovers out there, I suggest you try to grab hold of the Manga, or download the anime using torrent or something (Last episode aired just recently, episode 69, but I'm sure theres going to be life after Ja-Pan) otherwise you'd be missing out in a lot of fun and facts! (Yeah, despite the way I described it, they provide a lot of interesting facts >_> )

And thats all, lol, I was just bored, look forward to my next Anime Review! XD
